Lote 91. William and Mary (1688-94), gold Guinea, 1689, first conjoined busts right, Latin legend surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. DEI. GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. first crowned quartered shield of arms, four strings to early slanting harp, date either side of crown, MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX. ET. REGINA., 8.34g (Bull EGC 360; MCE 148; S.3426). Very fine with light peripheral toning graded by NGC as AU Details Reverse Tooled. NGC Certification 8221134-001 The gold output in the first coinage year for William and Mary totalled £128,442 worth which was only used to strike Guineas and Half-Guineas.
